About the Role
The Cleaner/Caretaker will assist in the upkeep of the facilities of Fort William Historical Park, which is one of the largest living-history sites in North America.
The position is hands-on and includes cleaning, getting facilities ready, helping guests, and basic maintenance. You can work alone or as part of a team to preserve public areas, historic sites, and other facilities. The schedule includes some nights, weekends, holidays, overnight events, and occasional off-site assignments.
Cleaner/Caretaker Includes
- Cleaning and maintaining historic buildings, contemporary amenities, and public space.
- Cleaning washrooms, floors, windows, and visiting areas.
- Installation of facilities and equipment for daily use, rentals, and special events.
- Securing, opening, and monitoring facilities.
- Performing simple gatekeeping and security support functions.
